I'm William Comploi, born 1998. I went the trade route through Austrian school and trained as a mechanical technician. Then four years as a field technician covering Central and Eastern Europe, commissioning automation lines — for small workshops, for global corporations, for the car industry.
In that job one question decides everything: does it run. A line that stands still burns money by the hour, and the person operating it wasn't there when it was built. That stayed with me. So I don't announce things that aren't finished, and I don't put anything in the copy that the first click can't find.
Programming came along on the side. It has turned into five projects: a file-sharing service, a browser strategy game, an Advent calendar for my wife, a workshop app for friends and a job application app. I build next to a full-time job, three to four hours a day. It's my passion, so I put my whole heart into it.

Real-time strategy game in the browser
Hex map, several players at once, nothing to install. Made for people who want a round of strategy without a download first.

Sends photos and video privately, at original size. Whoever receives them doesn't need an account: open the link, download, done. Built for the day after a party, when footage from ten different phones has to end up in one place.

Advent calendar and countdown
Counts down to Christmas Eve, with its own picture and its own colour for every day in December. Built for my wife — including a biscuit that every visitor clicks on together, and a cat that decides for itself where it goes.

Web app for job applications
Works out from ten questions and ten short tasks which jobs in Vorarlberg, the Swiss Rhine Valley, Liechtenstein and around Lake Constance fit — as cards to swipe. Writes cover letters without stock phrases and sets them in one of 732 application layouts. No account; documents stay in the browser.

Mobile web app, private
Keeps track, per car, of which parts are open, ordered or done — plus mileage, due dates, inspection reports and appointments for the phone calendar. Reads the registration document from a photo, takes voice commands (including Vorarlberg dialect) and runs offline, without an account, on iPhone and Android. Built for a circle of friends.
Private project — not public
What I do
Alongside my full-time job I build digital solutions — websites and the applications behind them. That is the work I do every day and can judge best.
I am not tied to that. If a job points in another direction, I take a look and tell you whether I can do it. If I can't, I say so.
